A Change in the Light - Exhibition at The Clark

on Tue, 03/02/2021 - 00:26

On View: February 13 - May 16, 2021

I was invited by the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA to create several cliché-verre plates to illustrate each step for two processes, one which uses lithographic ink and the other oil paint as the bases of the photographic glass negatives.  The plates were then printed by photographer Jonathan Kline on light-sensitive photo paper using archival processes.  The plates and prints can be seen in the didactic display case of this exhibition.

Here is a description of the exhibition below, from The Clark's website.

Now you can purchase my instruction book, Non-toxic Century Plate Lithography Part 1 in printed or E-book formats from Blurb.com and from me directly.

Non-toxic Century Plate Lithography Part 1 introduces printmakers to a new, sustainable and environmentally friendly way to produce high-quality, professional, hand-pulled lithographs without using toxic and petroleum-based materials.

Century Plate Lithography Demonstration at RISD

on Fri, 11/16/2018 - 23:08

I demonstrated Century Plate Lithography, a non-toxic and sustainable process using bio-based, biodegradable etches and processing materials at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)'s Printmaking Department on November 6.  I am thrilled that they have adopted Century Plate Litho for the rest of the semester, in place of ball-grained plates and the traditional, toxic and petroleum-based chemistry.
